Leinster Fleadh Ballymahon 2017: Ballymahon has been chosen to host the Leinster Fleadh 2017 in July, which in itself is a great honour and also gives the community another opportunity to showcase the south Longford town. The ground work for this massive social event has been ongoing for the past 9 months with committees been formed and roles decided upon. In order for such a provincial/national event to succeed and be successful it requires dedicated work from many committee members and volunteers, the organising committee are asking anyone from Ballymahon and surrounding areas who would like to help out as volunteer/stewards to make contact. Volunteers will be required mainly on the days of Saturday 15th and Sunday16th of July.
A preliminary information night will be held on the 7th of June in Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon@ 8pm where the duties required over the weekend will be outlined, further meetings will be held closer to the event dates to inform volunteers of the arrangements for the weekend. At this stage the committee would like to get names of those who can make themselves available as volunteers/stewards, this can be done by contacting Michael Farrell 0872109416 firstname.lastname@example.org, calling in to Jenny’s Flowers and Gifts Main Street Ballymahon or by using the Ballymahon Traders page on facebook and follow the links.
